237 runners gathered today to try and run off the Christmas excesses. The good news was that there was no ice, though a suggestion was made that anyone arriving by bike would have the opportunity to take up Triathlon since the road at the start was deep in water.
We were delighted to welcome tourists from far and wide, including the Grundys from Derby who came on the 6am train just to be with us.
Apologies to anyone who noticed that their position in the results was slightly different from the one on their position token. There were a few problems processing the results, owing to missing and refused tokens, and the results were adjusted to try and ensure that people got the right time.
First timer at Ally Pally Will Brewin was first home in 17.38, followed by Charlie Ogilvie in 18.17 and Matyas Sinko in 19.26. First women home were Hannah Wylie, also a first-timer with us in 20.43, Catherine Airey in 21.31 and Tanya Addison in 24.05.
Fastest junior was Matyas Sinko, followed by Daniel Geiger and Eddie Fairhurst.
Highest age grade was Mike Hurford with a score of 74.72%.
Congratulations on milestones for regular Ally Pally runners Ellika McAuley reaching her 100th and Samuel Romaner and Jake Stafford reaching their 50th.
Don't forget to get your New Year's Resolutions off to a good start with our New Years Day run at 10am, and our Paced Run on Sat 6th Jan at the usual time of 9am.
Happy New Year to all.
