Winter is coming:

With the recent change in the clocks, the days getting shorter and somewhat more moist we have all been reflecting to another year drawing to an end, and for me nothing signals that more starkly than the first use of the alternate course. Although when I left my house this morning I knew in my heart of hearts that I would be using the “winter” course I still held on to a small ray of hope that we might get a few weeks longer out of the “proper” course. But my mother always did say I was optimistic to to the point of naivety. So after a check of the drainage in the lower field (#fastshow) the alternate course it was. For those of you that might remember the course from days past we started running the course clockwise at the end of last year so the knee killing downward slope from the regular course becomes a heart attack inducing uphill grind just a few hundred meters into the Parkrun. That said once I remembered where the start line was (please forgive me its been a year) we all had a very pleasant Parkrun. Big shout out to all the volunteers, to those who hit a milestone Tim who hit fifty today and Ed who hit one hundred and fifty, and don't forget there is no Parkrun at ally pally on the eighth of December. As I did Finsbury Park for the first time last week my NENDY has now become Grovelands so perhaps a trip north for me in three weeks as I really want to add some Parkruns to my tourist badge Until next time take it easy, Shane
