We're sorry to say that tomorrows parkrun is going to be on the alternative course. The meeting point is by the 4k point that's just over the bridge. We aim to start fairly promptly tomorrow.
Tomorrow's parkrun 6/1/2018 is going to take place over the alternative course.
We aim to start at the same time 9.00
The start point is at the 4K marker at the bridge linking Buckingham park with Meadowcroft.
The normal course is well and truly under water.
Please leave plenty of time to get to the start by 9.00
see you in the morning.
Tomorrow's parkrun 30th December 2017 is going to take place over the alternative course. It's currently flooded in two places as shown in the pictures so you will get wet feet. We aim to start at the same time. The start point is at the far side of the bridge we have to cross twice when running the normal route. Please note we are expecting more rain over night so there maybe more flooding. The normal course is well and truly under water.
There is alternative parking nearer the start at the car park on Meadowcroft near the traffic claiming with overhead barrier.

We are pleased to announce that Aylesbury parkrun wil be going ahead on Christmas and New Year's day. Both start at 9am, see you there!
Following last week's Halloween and 3rd birthday celebrations, we had another great week this week - no post birthday blues for us! Here were Aylesbury's reasons to be cheerful...
1. We set a record (almost)
There were a massive 203 of you today, and apart from our inaugural run, that's our highest ever number of runners. And considering nearby Tring and Rushmere both had birthday parkruns this week too, we had a really impressive turnout. Thanks to everyone who came today, including 22 newcomers to Aylesbury, 6 of whom decided to make it their first ever parkrun... welcome to the community!
2. We had bling
Last week was the end of our annual points competition, which awards those who run and/or volunteer at Aylesbury consistently. The top three male and female points winners all got gold, silver and bronze engraved medals, the lucky bunch! They were:
3rd Ian Roberts
2nd Neil Muir
1st David Hudson
3rd Natasha Foskett
2nd Kimberley Sharp
1st Gayle Willington
And we gave a trophy to Most Improved parkrunner of the year, the person whose time improved the most across the year. From scouring all the results (thanks Graham!), we awarded this to Kat Beatty, who had an overall improvement of 13:41, from 40:41 to 27:00, great work Kat!
Well done to all our worthy winners.
3. We had pacers
We set this week up as a 'pacing event' and our appeal was very well answered, a whole 15 of you gave up your chance of a PB to help others achieve theirs. The fab fifteen were:
David Hudson (18 mins), Conor Richardson (20 mins), Max Perry (21 mins), Neil Muir (22 mins), Laura Gush (24 mins), Simon Mitchell (25 mins), Jo Hercules (26 mins), Graham Simmons (27 mins), Lucy Mayer (29 mins), David McLeish (30 mins), Lisa Ripley (32 mins), Eunice Godbold (33 mins), Alison Roberts (34 mins), Penny Roberts (35 mins) and Kim Bourke Smith (37 mins).
A special mention goes to our very own RD Penny Roberts who, as well as pacing, was running her 50th parkrun! Congratulations Penny, and enjoy your new red t-shirt
Thanks so much to all of you, your pacing was really accurate and I'm sure it helped 38 runners achieve a new PB. From speaking to people on the day, I got some really great feedback from pacers and runners alike, so we will be attempting this kind of event every few months. If you'd like to get involved next time, or fancy pacing any week, please get in touch via Facebook or email email@example.com.
As ever, another massive thank you goes out to our volunteers!
Alison ROBERTS • Carol BAKER • Conor RICHARDSON • David HUDSON • David MCLEISH • Eunice GODBOLD • Graham SIMMONS • Harriet NORTH • Jackie WHEELER • Jan BRADFIELD • Jo HERCULES • Kim BOURKE-SMITH • Laura GUSH • Lisa RIPLEY • Lucy MAYER • Marion CHILD • Max PERRY • Neil MUIR • Nigel PARKE • Penelope ROBERTS • Sam SMUTS • Sandi LATIMER • Shelley AMES • Simon MITCHELL • Stewart BROMFIELD • Susan JOHNSON • William BLUNDELL
Without them your parkrun just doesn't happen. It is part of the parkrun community to help out and we really appreciate when you do. We're a friendly bunch and give training for any of the roles if needed! See our volunteer page for details on getting involved.
Oh... and we had CAKE - again!
Thanks for reading, and see you next week
