Barrow parkrun 285

Unfortunately no Easter rabbits made an appearance this morning at Barrow park, but there was an appearance from members of Walney U11 football team, they had no game this week so decided to use the run as part of their training programme.  Well done to all the boys and the young lady for joining us this morning, we hope you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing more of you in the coming weeks.

There were 3 celebration runs this week with Marie Morris completing her 100th run, Junior runner Olivia Gomersall completing her 50th run and Leslie Wearing completing his 50th run.  Thank you for all the cakes and sweets that we all enjoyed after.

A date for your diary is Saturday 27th May, when the runners and volunteers will be turning Barrow park purple to honour Alice Pyne, this is a yearly event and it would be great to try to beat our course attendance of 208 which was set on 22nd August 2015.

This week 162 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 11 were first timers and 13 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 10 different clubs took part.

We welcome children at parkrun. Please note that those under the age of 11 must be within arm's reach of a parent, guardian or designated adult of the parents' choice whilst attending 5k parkrun events. It must also be ensured that children place themselves appropriately at the start so as to prevent a situation where they are being repeatedly overtaken. This is to ensure the safety of your child.

See you all soon
