Barrow parkrun 350
The first Saturday of the school holiday and the light drizzle falling did not put off the 192 people who ran, jogged and walked our scenic parkrun, not even the fact that there was no milestone runs so no cakes at the cafe afterwards stopped people from turning up and enjoying the company.
There will be lots of cakes next week as we turn Barrow parkrun purple in memory of local girl Alice Pyne, so please dig out anything purple and come along and join in the fun.
This week 192 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 39 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 12 different clubs took part.
The event was made possible by 19 volunteers:
Fiona BANNISTER • David FARISH • Donna BATES • Robert EDWARDS • David SPENCER • Michael COOK • Louise COOK • Stephen BANNISTER • John SHERWEN • John WEARING • Fred BAGLEY • Owen BAXENDALE • Sian LITTLEMORE • Michele ASHTON • Philip LEIGH • Ann HORTON • Valerie HAYWARD • Ben MONTAGUE • Keith HERBERT
Parkrun relies on volunteers every week, so if you're injured or had a night out on the Friday please consider this, the jobs are varied and are all easy to do from Run Director, Marshalling, Tail Walker to Time keeper, if you would like to volunteer, please either comment on the facebook page, reply to the volunteer email or speak to any of the volunteers on Saturday. Thank you.
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Barrow parkrun Results Page.

We welcome children at parkrun. Please note that those under the age of 11 must be within arm's reach of a parent, guardian or designated adult of the parents' choice whilst attending 5k parkrun events. It must also be ensured that children place themselves appropriately at the start so as to prevent a situation where they are being repeatedly overtaken. This is to ensure the safety of your child.
See you all soon
