Barrow parkrun 357

Congratulations to 4 of our parkrunners this week who completed their milestone runs, Chris Young his 100th, and 50th runs for Bill Kitchin, Laura Leigh and Sonja Farish. Sonja has been with Barrow parkrun since 2011 and can usually be found undertaking one of the many volunteering roles such as putting out the course markings before everyone else arrives. Thank you all for the cakes after the run.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't as kind to us today as normally and there was quite a few very wet people at the end, thank you to all the volunteers for standing and encouraging us all in the bad weather.
We will be celebrating our 7th anniversary on 22nd September when we will all be enjoying our alternative course, due to another event taking place in the park.

All pictures taken at parkrun can be found on facebook - barrow parkrun photos.

This week 185 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 13 were first timers and 24 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 16 different clubs took part.

We welcome children at parkrun. Please note that those under the age of 11 must be within arm's reach of a parent, guardian or designated adult of the parents' choice whilst attending 5k parkrun events. It must also be ensured that children place themselves appropriately at the start so as to prevent a situation where they are being repeatedly overtaken. This is to ensure the safety of your child.

See you all soon
Mike & Louise Cook
