Barrow parkrun 364

Barrow parkrun 364

Barrow park  definitely turned Halloween on Saturday as a record number of  witches, cats, pumpkins, clowns and a few scary runners made their way around our undulating, slightly hilly course on a  chilly morning.

Well done to 2 of our junior parkrunners Billy Ashton and William Jones Barnes for volunteering on your birthday weekend.  Thank you very much for the treats that we enjoyed after the run.

Today's run saw a large group taking part in honour of the late Jo-anne Davies, Jo was a keen supporter of Barrow parkrun and the local sporting community, they are raising money for the Jo's Appeal and taking on various challengers, this weekend they have completed Barrow parkrun then on Sunday they are swimming across Windermere.  Well done to you all.

Next  week it's junior volunteer week, thank you to all who have offered to complete these roles.

This week 223 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 23 were first timers and 28 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 17 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 23 volunteers:

We welcome children at parkrun. Please note that those under the age of 11 must be within arm's reach of a parent, guardian or designated adult of the parents' choice whilst attending 5k parkrun events. It must also be ensured that children place themselves appropriately at the start so as to prevent a situation where they are being repeatedly overtaken. This is to ensure the safety of your child.

See you all soon
