Run # 447 – 23 December 2017 2017
Dry and unseasonably warm. However, it did mean that those areas of the course that had mud on the surface made it particularly ‘squelchy’ underfoot resulting in lots of Ergh!! shouts from competitors not used to cross country extremes! All good fun.
Report from the field
This week was a ‘come in your Christmas outfit’ event and runners certainly took this to heart.
In the nine years I’ve been taking part in these events, I don’t think I’ve seen so many Santas, elves and reindeer (dressed up as dogs) as took part today, fantastic!
Even our event photographer was in full Santa regalia!
Talking before the start to one participant who shall remain nameless (mainly due to the fact I forgot to ask her name), she told me this was the best event she attended over Christmas as it made her smile from start to finish, it keeps her fit and she didn’t feel pressurised to buy anything!!
To top it all, the sound system is working well and we all had the pleasure of hearing Dave’s dulcet tones reaching our ears. So that’s what he’s been saying for 9 years!
Just as a reminder of upcoming events
