Another 700!

Run # 504 – 19th January 2019

Another 700!

Yes indeed, even though there is always a bit of a decline in numbers as resolutions turn into reality and the cold weather insists you stay in bed, 700 of our intrepid participants took part in run number 504!

The now legendary ‘double funnel’ (sounds like a P&O liner) was in action again today and was working perfectly, it’s like an episode of One Man and His Dog! From a personal perspective, on both occasions that the DF has been used, I’ve ended up at the front of a funnel. This exciting experience means you have the pleasure of walking past all those who have overtaken you in the final 400m of the run, very satisfying! However, moments later, these intrepid folk are released and go past you for a second time. This is truly an emotional roller-coaster!!

There was a marvellous celebration by a group of runners who were there to accompany Carmel Bees reach her 250th Parkrun appearance (see below). Balloons, t-shirts and sashes were in abundance along with some post event nibbles. Congratulations to Carmel and all those achieving milestones today.

The following fantastic runners achieved milestones this Saturday:

10 – Emilia Hicks

50 – Alastair Gorton, Andrew Egan, Robert Griffin

100 – Tarsem Bains

250 – Carmel Bees
