SOME IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Position Tokens - Please ensure that you hand in your finish token after the run, even if you don’t want a time, or have forgotten your personal barcode, we still need these for next week!

Dogs - Dogs should remain on leads at all times. The lead should be at a reasonable length so as not to trip fellow runners.

Facebook - We have a Facebook page (Black Park parkrun) - please take a look and leave us a message, it's great to hear how you are doing and what you think of our parkrun.

Parking - Please avoid parking along Black Park Road, we do set out cones to deter parking here but we have heard of an instance recently of cars being parked further up the road and unfortunately on of those cars being broken into.  Please try to use the car park where possible.

A few notices for this week.

1. The Car Park storm troopers were out issuing tickets to those not showing a valid pass. Remember to purchase on the day or buy an annual one to save getting a fixed penalty notice.

2. A mobile phone was found today by Lisa Scott and handed to our trusted team. It was thankfully claimed by Paul Lomas. He has promised a coffee to Lisa any time.

3. If you finished between 111 and 120 today your finishing order has been adjusted. A batch of 10 finish tokens were handed out in reverse order. This means the person finishing after 110 received token 120 (instead of 111). The person finishing in 120 position collected token number 111. You get what I mean. I think you can sort the rest out for yourself.

4. Please note. If you want to be considered for volunteering, and I hope you do, ticking the box on your profile does not alert me. You must send an email to the link on the volunteers tab on the website - black-parkhelpers@parkrun.com.
Ticking the box only places you on the data base which is not accessible by me for making up teams.

Black Park Anniversary Day – 6years

On Saturday 18th July Black Park parkrun will be 6 years old.

Each year we celebrate the occasion with awards to runners topping the league tables This is suported by a small "bring and share" food party. Party dress is optional but appreciated.

So if you fancy yourself as a chef feel free to allow us to taste your skills. If not just bring something anyway.

The party should not detract from the fact that it is a normal parkrun and the first of the new Black Park parkrun year.

Run report-Event #295, 7th February 2015

Today’s weather.

Course setting and marking out.

Saturday’s course was marked out by Geoff Oliver who I noticed running as a 30 minute pacer (29:55 actual time). He then pedalled round again to collect the signs. We should all show our appreciation to Geoff and the team of cyclists, working on a rota, who mark the course each week.

Shortly we shall be losing 2 out of the 6 cyclists through posting away and domestic actualities. We now desperately need to recruit more to join the honourable yet unseen group of volunteers essential to keeping everything running smoothly.

Have you ever tried running the course without the signs to guide you? It is so easy to find yourself running around like a headless chicken once you lose the route.

So if you enjoy running at Black Park it is so easy to give something back as a volunteer without losing a run. Please get in touch as a matter of urgency.

Belongings left behind.

Pink “Race for Life” cap and black i-phone armlet pouch.

Go Ape concession

I was reminded on Saturday that the concession of 15% off for Go Ape activities still operates. QUOTE code BPRUNNER to use this concession
