post run coffee

Nick from the Cafe 2 U service will be attending our event as often as possible to prepare fresh hot and cold well earned drinks for parkrunners, volunteers and spectators, bring some change and pop along to see him, he's just at the end of the path behind the scanning table!

BARCODES ONLY

The parkrun software has been upgraded and no longer has the facility to find runners by name on the database, therefore if you don't have your barcode when you run we cannot give you a time.

a snowy pre-Christmas parkrun

We ummed and ah'd about whether to go ahead this morning, but in the end Rick and Kerry went down to check out the park and we went for it.

We were joined in the inch or so of the cold, white stuff by 10 die hard runners, Bob Wishart, a regular at Newcastle parkrun joined us sporting his vest, shorts and the all important 'bah humbug' hat.

Glad that the runners outnumbered the marshalls we headed down to the start, drew a line in the snow for the start line and set them off at 9am prompt after a warning about not lobbing snowballs at marshalls or other parkrunners.

All 10 runners finished without any broken bones, stopping to build snowmen or skating across the frozen lake.

Big thanks to all runners and volunteers this morning, I think I left my toes in the ice :o(

See you all at parkrun on Christmas day morning, don't forget your flasks and mince pies!

Christmas and New Year parkruns

As long as I can get enough volunteers Christmas Day and New Years Day parkruns will go ahead at the usual time.

It'd be great to see reindeer antlers, santa costumes and general merriment to really make it special.

Can Christmas day parkrunners/volunteers/supporters please bring along flasks, mince pies and Christmas cake etc which we can set up in the bandstand to make it a bit special.

Please let me know on BradfordHelpers@parkrun.com what you intend to bring along?

Cheers
