Bramley parkrun #53
On a mild, damp morning of a day that promised to turn out most pleasant (and later did) Bramley parkrun stepped into Year 2, Week 1.
131 runners eagerly gathered at the starting line (probably itching to run off the cake from last week’s birthday event) as Run Director for the week, Jean Hollings, announced that Phil Smedley was our Volunteer of the Month for June. Phil has been regularly volunteering and his cheers and encouragement have helped many of our runners around the course, and up on our Upwards Flat Section. Pleasantries and notices over and Jean set our runners on their way.
Craig Pettit was the first runner across the finish line in 18:44, closely followed by Edward Stone of Pudsey Pacers, his first run at Bramley, in 19:20, and David Semmence of Bramley Breezers in 19:29. First lady across the finish line was Joanna Shevlin of Horsforth Harriers in 24:24, with junior runner Emily Kite from Pudsey and Bramley AC being our second female in 24:32, a new PB, and Rachel Feather of Bramley Breezers 3rd female in 26:00, another new PB!
In fact, the PB was strongly featured in our parkrun this week; 33 runners recorded a new Bramley PB. We also welcomed 21 First Timers. This week we also had 6 unknown runners. If you would like to receive a time, have your runs recorded towards parkrun milestone T-shirt, and be able to record all your new PBs then please DON’T FORGET YOUR BARCODE, (or your running legs). At the moment, our points table has it all to play for as we are at the start of a New Year. Joanna Shevlin is top for the ladies and David Semmence for the men.
Remember that parkrun happens every week thanks to our volunteers, if you would like to volunteer, then we would like to welcome you into our fold – please drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
