Brockenhurst parkrun #259 – 7th July 2018

As World Cup fever gripped the nation 138 parkrunners opted for the four lap course at Brockenhurst to start the day in style. It was another scorcher so well done to everyone that took part, including the volunteers! There were 40 first timers of which 6 were new to parkrun and the rest visiting Brockenhurst for the first time, and 23 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 19 different clubs took part.

The first man home was Owen Courtney, a first timer at Brockenhurst and only his second ever parkrun. The first lady was Heather Butcher, a Brockenhurst regular who also recorded a new PB. Kay Bunney topped the age grade score and also recorded a PB.

After months of careful planning Paul Gale not only joined the 100 club, but also the 25 volunteer club and it was his birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL and thanks for the cake and for volunteering. It was also great to welcome so many of your Totton Running Club friends.

Well done to the chaps who pushed the 'stag' around the course in a wheelchair - I hope you enjoy the rest of your stag weekend!

We only had 5 parkrunners who shared their first name with one of the 23 man England squad (Jack, Nick, John, Kieran, and Ashley). Shame we didn't have any Gareths or Harrys today but we did have Alison Kaines.

It's coming home!!!

*** We are missing finish token number 76 - If you have accidentally taken it away with you please email so we can arrange for its return. Thanks!***
