Both First Finishers however were beaten on Age Grade scoring by Camilla Pearse who set 78.47%.

We had 3 Milestone runs today as Mahesh Thagadur reached 200 runs:

and New Forest Runners M15 Robbie Pritchard joined the 150 Club as well as Volunteering for the 103rd occasion! An impressive volunteering to run ratio that others might note.

Robbie 150

Alan Horswell earned his Volunteer 25 T shirt today and also ran for the 269th time, the highest of our home parkrunners.

Well done to all three.

Well done to the 179 people who ran, jogged or walked the course in perfect conditions this morning. We welcomed 21 first timers and representatives of 21 different clubs.

Congratulations to the 27 who recorded new Personal Bests and to first time visitor Paul Lowe of Belgrave Harriers who led the field home. Paul has run Bushy parkrun 92 times with a PB of 15:57 and made light work of our hills.

Well done also to Catherine Smith of NF Juniors who led the ladies home for the 10th time and also set the highest Age Grade score for a very impressive 13th time.

Congratulations also to our under 10s who set new PBs. Abigail Sheather has run all 65 of her senior parkruns at Brock and set a new PB by over 40 seconds exactly a year after her previous PB. Meanwhile Daniel Robertson took over 30 seconds off his PB and with a time of 22:09 also set the 3rd highest Age Grade score today! Brothers George and Harry Parkes below both broke their previous PBs and then helped with the post event close down to earn well deserved Volunteer points.

Harry and George Parkes 10 Club

There were no official Milestone runs today but First Finisher Paul Lowe ran his 150th parkrun.

Please use our new Selfie Frame and the Milestone inserts to record your own Milestone runs whether on the day or retrospectively. If you would like to send a Milestone photo to brockenhursthelpers@parkrun.com we will try to include it in future Run Reports.

Brockenhurst parkrun #292 – 23rd February 2019

With the full car parking area available again, we reverted back to the regular start line for today's run. Whilst there is plenty of parking available here (No verge parking please) we do recommend car sharing, cycling and running, where possible, to our beautiful Wilverley course.

Visitors from far and near joined us today, Gosport, Andover, Ipswich, Telford and Newport, Wales. Welcome All!

Local running stalwarts Marion Frewin and Mario Sheath ( many apologies for messing up my intro to you two!) celebrated their 100th parkrun with a feast of gluten free cakes, flapjack and chocolates for all after the run. Many thanks and congratulations on your achievements.

Thomas James led in a close pack of 4 lead runners and achieved a new PB of 17.32. Well done Thomas.
Well done also to Duncan Cooper of Poole AC who set an impressive 85.5% to head the Age Grade scoring and to Valeria Sesto who led the ladies home for the 17th time.

One of our youngest runners (and regular Volunteer) Bea Murphy, had her 6th birthday this week and decided to celebrate by running a New PB in 35.45. Well Done Bea!

A very nice red hoodie was left at the finish, it is safely with some other 'lost' items from previous Brockenhurst parkruns. Please contact us to reclaim.

This week 197 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 60 were first timers and 27 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 29 different clubs took part.

Brockenhurst parkrun Event number 291 – 16th February 2019

Thank you again to everyone for their patience when managing the car park closure. We delayed the start just a couple of minutes so that all could get going together. We were joined by 35 runners from Poole AC on their 3rd annual away day to Brockenhurst and they all seemed to have good runs.

The weather was mild, calm and dry. The alternative start point worked well and is even preferred by some (more sheltered with a wider starting track).

Well done to the 39 who recorded new Personal Bests and to James Bewley of Victoria Park AC who led the field home for the 2nd time and Alice Rudd of Hardley Runners who led the ladies home for an impressive 28th time to move clear into 2nd place on our First Finish table.

Both First Finishers however were beaten on Age Grade scoring by Caroline Pemberton of New Forest Runners who set 79.10%.

This week 206 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 41 were first timers and representatives of 31 different clubs took part.

New Forest Runner, Gail Walters, joined the 50 Club! Well done.

Brockenhurst parkrun event # 290 – 09th February 2019

Thank you to everyone for their flexibility and patience today regarding the car park closure and apologies that the additional car parks were not opened as we were told. Please check here for updates regarding the situation for next week.

The weather remained fine and dry as everyone smoothly navigated the change to the start/finish position and took on the extra dog-leg around the Oak tree (rumour has it there was some motivational music at that point though!)

Well done to the 184 people who ran, jogged and walked the course. We welcomed 29 first timers and 13 recorded new Personal Bests – congratulations! Representatives of 24 different clubs took part.
Congratulations to first time visitor Mark Vardy of Newbury AC who led the field home and Gemma Russhard of Lymington Tri who set a new PB to lead the ladies home for the first time.
Well done also to Caroline Woodford of NFR who set the highest Age Grade score of close to 80%.

David Deering from Eastleigh parkrun joined the 50 Club on his first visit to Brockenhurst and M11 Charlie Dunn celebrated joining the Junior 10 Club by setting a new PB by over 2 1/2 minutes! We also had a Birthday runner, five 250 Club members and tourists from around the country.

Brockenhurst parkrun #289 – 02nd February 2019

With many of our neighbouring parkruns cancelled because of the icy conditions the gravel tracks of Wilverley Inclosure attracted a record 281 people who ran or jogged the course with just a few avoidable patches of ice. We welcomed an impressive 88 first timers including over 30 Verwood Runners and tourists from across the country. Representatives of 38 different clubs took part.

Congratulations to the 28 who recorded new Personal Bests despite the bitter cold and to Robert Spencer of St Albans Striders who led the field home for the first time with a sub 17 minute PB, only 5 seconds ahead of Rob McTaggart of Bournemouth AC. Ellie Farrow of City of Portsmouth AC led the ladies home for the 3rd time just 5 seconds from her course PB.

Well done to Barbara Walton of Lymington Tri Club who set the highest Age Grade score once again.

With all of the local cancellations we were honoured with 6 Milestone runs from first time visitors. Rebecca Gardiner of Lonely Goat RC joined the 100 Club while Sally Westbrook of Verwood Runners, Carrie Webb of Blackwater Valley Runners, David Morgan, David Shering and Rebekah Bancroft all joined the 50 Club.

Brockenhurst parkrun #287 – 19th January 2019

The gloomy, damp morning didn't deter the 178 people who ran or jogged the course today. We welcomed 27 first timers including an enthusiastic group from Winchester parkrun and the representatives of 20 different clubs who took part.

Congratulations to the 23 who recorded new Personal Bests and to the two infrequent visitors who led the field home. Alastair Rogers ran twice in Wilverley in 2014 and today completed his hat trick of First Finishes by holding off regular Adam Jundi by just 4 seconds! Adam will now have to wait to join Alice Rudd and Chloe Woolf who are in joint 2nd on our First Finish table. In 3rd place was our First Finish leader, Frank Handy who is 9 clear with 36 First Finishes.

Our well travelled First Lady, Sian Thomas, last ran Wilverley two years ago and led the ladies home for the first time with her 3rd slowest time from the 21 different parkruns she's visited!

However both First Finishers were beaten convincingly on Age Grade scoring by Catherine Smith of NF Juniors who is still recovering from a hard fall at Southampton's Christmas Day parkrun. Catherine's 81.77% was closely followed by young Jon Pepin who scored 80.88%, only 12 seconds off his PB.

It was reassuring to see another parkrun faller equalling her PB as Caroline Barnfield overcame her wounds and bruises to complete her 89th run at Brockenhurst despite the best efforts of uncontrolled dogs!

There were two Milestones today with W10 Charlotte Rajakaruna joining the Junior 10 Club having run them all at Brockenhurst. I completed my 250th parkrun Volunteer day but can't match Charlotte's loyalty as some of those have been as Run Report Writer for Killarney parkrun!
