Wilverley Plain Spring Clean – 04 March

Dear Brockenhurst parkrunner

We are very fortunate to be able to parkrun in Wilverley Inclosure throughout the winter and are grateful to the Forestry Commission for their permission for us to use this popular Inclosure.

It would therefore be very much appreciated if you would consider giving up some of your time after the parkrun on 04 March to take part in:

The Great British Spring Clean

The Great British Spring Clean is a national campaign, led by Keep Britain Tidy, which aims to encourage community groups to spend a couple of hours together litter picking in their local area. New Forest District Council, New Forest National Park Authority, the Forestry Commission and the Verderers of the New Forest are working together to support this national tidy up.

Permission Holders (Brockenhurst parkrun) and members of the public are being invited by the Forestry Commission to a series of litter picking events.

Festive season parkruns

If you're making plans for the Festive season you might consider including one (or more!) of the local parkruns below (to offset all of that food and drink!). There will NOT be a Wilverley parkrun on Christmas Day or New Year's Day, however there will be Saturday parkruns as usual at 09:00 on 27 December and 03 January at Wilverley Inclosure.

On Christmas Day you are only allowed to register only one parkrun (even though start times may be different to normal):

Eastleigh (Fleming Park) - 09.00
Poole - 09.00
Netley Abbey (Royal Victoria CP) - 09:00*
Andover - 09.00

Southampton (The Common) - 09:30
Winchester (North Walls Rec) - 10:00*

On New Year's Day you are allowed to register up to two parkruns and start times are staggered accordingly:

Netley Abbey (Royal Victoria CP) - 09:00*
Bournemouth - 09.00
Andover - 09.00
Southampton - 10:30
Eastleigh - 10:30
Winchester - 10:30

* Minimum parking charges apply but can be extended by displaying a spare parkrun barcode alongside the parking ticket.

If you're away visiting family or friends or want to check for local updates, the list of Festive parkruns across the UK can be found at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/christmas-compendium/

Don't forget to pack your printed parkrun barcode!

Christmas and New Year

Some parkrun teams will be holding special parkrun events on Christmas Day & New Year's day. Brockenhurst is unable to do this, as we use the Brockenhurst College grounds which will be closed over the Christmas period. If you are keen to take part in parkrun over the festive period, take a look at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/christmas-compendium/ - Poole, Bournemouth, Southampton & Winchester are putting on extra events for example.
