Brueton parkrun
Event number 442
5th January 2019

Report

The first official parkrun of the year and what an impressive turnout. 635 people braved the chill to run, walk, jog the 2 laps of the beautiful Brueton Park. It was inspiring to see so many new faces and the determination to run the course the best they could - we all have our own challenges. My challenge was to beat the kids to the finish line! I walked the first lap, then tagged teamed with Brett and away I went. Running the 2 laps before they finished walking the second. I can safely say, it was the most enjoyable parkrun I've had in awhile. Clear path, no children moaning at me, and the growing knowledge that I was going to beat the little beasties and by a good margin! Little victories and all. It wasn't about my time, or gaining a new PB, but for the shear joy of running.

Brueton had a tourist from Concord parkrun in Sheffield on Saturday, and I have decided to use their results to help me with the random stats:

5 Random numbers

118 people attended Concord at the weekend, the 118th finisher at Brueton was Tony HUGHES, with a time of 23:58.

It was Concord's 415th event, the 415th finisher was Linda Michele WHITEHEAD, with a time of 30:51.

There were 5 under 11s at Concord, the quickest in position 71, with a time of 28:28 (dam him! grr) Lorraine FRANCIS, in position 314th, also had a time of 28:28 - just shows what a busy parkrun we have at Brueton!

Concord had 29 new people to their course on Saturday, the 29th finisher at Brueton was Peter SHACKLADY, with a time of 20:21.
