44th Buckingham parkrun

171 one of you completed our parkrun this morning, the threatening skies thankfully didn't come to anything!

18 of you for the first time ever at any parkrun.. woo hoo we hope your enjoyed it & return again very soon.

A whopping 41 personal best times.

An ace team of volunteers, cheering you along and last but no means least the January Sweatshop winner..... Debbie Morris. Well done Debbie, we hope you enjoy your new trainers.

See you all next :-)

Now you see it, now you don’t

I got up early yesterday so that I could put the signs out and looked out to see my car covered in ice. An hour later I popped out to turn the engine on to thaw it only to find it had all melted. Similarly the frost on the paths was vanishing rapidly and the finishers reported ideal conditions for a run.

We had 136 runners with 19 first timers

The first 3 runners back were:
Jamie Chatfield in 18:28 (his second parkrun)
Jennifer McBain in 18:57 (parkrun number 73)
Michelle Pank (plus dog) in 19:07 (her second parkrun)

Nice one ladies :-)

A record turn out for a New Year!

A later start time of 10.30 am saw a record turn out of 216 runners some of whom had already run at another parkrun earlier in the day!

We had 77 first timers and hope to see them again soon.  25 runners recorded new Personal Best times.

New Years Day parkrun – kick off 2015 how you intend to continue…

By popular demand, Buckingham parkrun will be seeing in 2015 in style with a new years day event. We will be kicking off at the celebration-friendly start time of 10:30am.

What better way to spend the first day of the year than doing something active with your mates?

Please note that New Years Day is the only day of the year where you can run at 2 different parkruns and have both runs count towards your 50, 100 and 250 club shirts. Aylesbury parkrun will be taking place at 9am, meaning that it will be possible to run both Aylesbury (9am) and Buckingham (10:30am).

For those of you interested in tackling the double, here is the website for Aylesbury parkrun - www.parkrun.org.uk/aylesbury

Hope to see many of you on New Years Day - and I promise not to use the megaphone in the pre-run briefing!

Cheers
Glen

Christmas Day Parkrun

We'll be celebrating Christmas this year by holding our first ever Christmas Day parkrun - usual place but starting at 9.30 am.  For those of you with young children this will seem like the middle of the day and maybe a chance to get out of the house for some peace and quiet. Or perhaps, bring your youngsters along and tire them out a little! Everyone welcome, especially the grandparents .. and it's the ideal time to try out the new running gear you got for Christmas. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
