Run Report for Event number 284 / Saturday 19th January

306 parkrunners braved the icy cold conditions on Saturday.  This is a fabulous attendance but of course puts a strain on the car park. Those of you who attend regularly will have heard our pleas to either car share or maybe park a distance away from the park and walk/run to parkrun.  Please do try to do this as the Nowton Rangers have once again had to request that all cars are parked within the allocated areas, as to do otherwise means access for emergency vehicles is compromised.  It also means the grass is getting churned up where vehicles have been parked on the verges.

We are hoping one of the local schools may allow us to park in their car park so please watch this space with an update later this week ...

I have also been asked by the Junior parkrun event director to add the following information to my run report in the hope that as many people as possible will support this initiative. Please do support Steve Neumann and his team ...

Bury St Edmunds junior parkrun is bidding to bag a grant raised from carrier bag sales from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. The application was made to help provide funds to get our AED defibrillator up and running not only for Sunday’s junior parkrunners but for access at all times  to the wider Moreton Hall Community. Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for who they think should take away the top grant.

The list of 4 BSE stores taking part in the voting on our project are:
6179 Tesco Express, 24-26 Cornhill, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1DY
2166 Tesco Superstore, St Saviours Interchange, Bury St Edmunds, IP32 7JS
5086 Tesco Express, 1-2 Stamford Court, Horringer, IP33 2DF
2986 Tesco Express, Lawson Place, Moreton Hall, IP32 7EW

Voting will take place from Tuesday 1st January 2019 to Thursday 28th February 2019 and customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop. The project with the highest number of votes across the region will receive £4,000, the second placed project £2,000 and the third placed project £1,000.

Please do help vote for the junior parkrun event and good cause and please also spread the message to vote for us please </p>
