This week was our first pacer week in Castle Park. It was very warm for mid October and dry under foot which must have helped with people’s speed. Out of 336 participants this week there were 77 new Personal Bests, that means 26% of our runners who could achieve a pb did this week so well done to all of you (and can I have some of whatever you are on when I next run here please). In addition to all the PB’s achieved there were also 38 people attending Castle Park parkrun for the first time so a special welcome to them and I hope we will see you again.
Congratulations go to Craig Dodgen who ran his 100th parkrun and got a new pb by 55 seconds at the same time.
The event was made possible by 30 volunteers including our wonderful pacers:
Megan EVANS • Serena BERESFORD • Oliver LAST • Chris CHEW • Matthieu MILITON • Adam CHAPMAN • Grace CADZOW • Scott CADZOW • Graham MULLY • Harry MANSFIELD • Claire CADZOW • Kate PITTS • Francesca PALMER • Kobus SMITH • Mark PALMER • William PALMER • Elanor CADZOW • Dana SMITH • Louise GARDNER • Keith PHILLIPS • Philip MILES • Scott NUGENT • Howard WILLIAMS • Andrew ARNOLD • Neil BERRY • Simon DEWHURST • Daniel DAVIS • Tory FOOT • Paula FROST • Simon GARDNER
If you haven’t volunteered yet I would encourage you to consider helping out. Some people volunteer the day before a race or when they are injured so they can still get their parkrun fix without running. Julie is RD next week followed by Grace, they would both love to hear from you if you can help out and save them from the RD Thursday evening panic over a lack of volunteers.
Could I also remind you not to take the finish tokens homes, if you forget your barcode please drop your position token in one of the buckets by the scanners as we need them next week too.
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Castle Park parkrun Results Page.
We will be having our Halloween Fancy dress event on 27 October so hopefully there will be several of you in fancy dress.
Your Castle Park parkrun core team are Alastair, Ben, Chris, Christopher, Ellen, Francesca, Grace, Joanne, Julie, Kevin, Luke, Melanie, Oliver, Phily and Tory
