This week 143 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 8 were first timers and 37 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 15 different clubs took part, most notably our 1st finisher in a time of 18:46 this week a tourist from Oxford and a member of the Abingdon Athletics Club completing what was his 49th parkrun in total so good luck to him for his 50th next week or whenever it may be.
Well done to Simon HIPKIN who completed his 50th parkrun this week 44 of which have been with us at Clacton Seafront.
In the briefing this week I made mention of two of the fundamental rules of parkrun namely that children under the age of 11 must be kept within arms reach of a responsible adult and where dogs are concerned they should be kept on a short leash and a maximum of one dog per runner.
Both of these rules have been questioned recently not just by one participant but these rules are there to protect you as participants and safeguard all involved we are happy to have a discussion about these rules with you face to face but we must enforce these rules or the parkrun that we know and love will not be available for everybody.
Your understanding on this matter is appreciated.
I look forward to seeing you all next week.
