This week our event was looking promising with the skies clear and dry as we set up the course on a chilly morning. The weather held out for us until it was time for the health and safety briefing. Just to keep you all on your toes we moved you to the toilet block area for this and then further back almost to corner 2 for the start line.
As you all ran the course with purpose and the hopes of a new PB we kept you weaving around the stray with all intentions of protecting the newly sprung crocuses and conserving the stray (picture from a different event).
It seemed that everyone had a great run regardless of the weather and it's always fabulous to see so many families at parkrun. Sadly even though we mention every week that under 11's must stay within arms reach of their adult, there are those that still don't understand the rule. We as volunteers do everything we can to ensure the safety of our participants, especially children. 5K parkruns are not insured for children to run alone, if an incident were to happen we could risk the loss of our beloved parkrun. Please help us to ensure this never happens.
This week 261 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 29 were first timers and 24 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 23 different clubs took part.
The event was made possible by 25 volunteers:
