Harrogate parkrun #335 run report

If you went under the big tree before corner 2... straight past the ghost train... kept the emoji stall where everyone wins on your left... down past the whirligigs... jumped the blue electric cable... turned right when you got to James... waded through the long grass jungle and headed back onto the normal course when you reached Oatlands! ... And you did it twice more...

Then it can only mean one thing, you probably ran jogged walked at Harrogate parkrun #335 in the warm but wet first parkrun of June.

We all got soaked, the kit got soaked (sorry next volunteers), the tokens got soakened... but did we care? Not a drop... No ones enthusiasm was dampened! 441 parkrunners had a marvellous morning completing the course and all crossed the finish line looking resplendent in all their athletic glory. Honestly... you did... all of you.

Andrew Dobby and Sharon Hardcastle finished first, Isabel Conkleton ran her very first parkrun pipping her dad at the post, Richard ran all the way from the Gold Coast, Luke Warburton completed his 10th and Jo Wiliams, Elizabeth Watson and Rach Ibi smashed their 50ths.

Just wonderful to watch... All topped off with a mad hunt for the missing 3rd scanner... which wasn't missing at all, just sheltering in the big blue bag... and a hot Italian coffee courtesy of the gorgeous folks at Caffe Marconi. That there, is what Saturday's were made for.

Next week we'll be celebrating the fabulous NHS's 70th birthday... which is kinda handy given the large number of parkrunners taking part in the Great Knaresborough Bed Race... come down and join us. Same time. Same place. Don't forget your barcode.

And now for the additional bits:

Post run refreshments - Join us at Caffe Marconi (2 Princes Square) each week after parkrun to catch up, process the results, have a coffee and a good old chat. The food and drinks are great and Sarah and her team are huge fans of parkrun! It's good fun and you can even get your result early!

In Case of Emergency - Please double check that your emergency contact details are complete and up to date on your parkrun profile. You'll find a link to your profile on your weekly results email and newsletters or via this How can I access my profile / account? link. It only takes a few moments, put could really help us to help you if and when you most need it.

Barcodes - Is your printed barcode looking tired or not scanning easily? There are a range of tough and durable plastic parkrun barcode ID tags and parkrun wristbands available via http://www.parkrun-barcode.org.uk/ These are the only UK authorised and professionally printed tags and feature the parkrun branding and logo, your athlete details and can also be personalised with your ICE (In Case of Emergency) telephone number and additional information including specific medical details. They come in a range of options and can be attached to a key ring, laces, and running vest zip or worn on a lanyard.

Volunteering - We do ask that each of you, if possible, volunteer 3 times over the year. It is thanks to our great volunteer teams that parkruns around the world continue to happen every Saturday. Harrogate is no exception and without your kindness we would not be able to put on this wonderful free event. If you would like to help out please visit http://www.parkrun.org.uk/harrogate/volunteer/ for more information or talk to anyone in a yellow vest on parkrun day and then email us at harrogatehelpers@parkrun.com to get involved. If you still want to run don't let that put you off we have lots of jobs where you can still run !
