Sadly we have had to cancel Hazlehead parkrun today, Saturday 6th January, due to dangerous and icy conditions on the parkrun course.

We hope to be back again next weekend (13th January)

Christmas and New Year parkruns at Hazlehead

Christmas and New Year parkruns at Hazlehead

There will be a parkrun held on Christmas Day and New Years Day this year at Hazlehead park. We will also be holding our normal Saturday parkruns on December 23rd and 30th.

The schedule for the runs will be:
- Saturday 23rd December - 9.30am start
- Christmas Day - Monday 25th December - 9.30am start
- Saturday 30th December - 9.30am start
- New Years Day - Monday Jan 1st - 9.30am start at Hazlehead
- New Years Day - Monday Jan 1st - 11am start at Aberdeen Beach parkrun

On New Years Day you have the opportunity to run a double parkrun.  We have joined with our friends at Aberdeen Beach to schedule the start time to give you the opportunity to run two parkruns in the one day.  Hazlehead parkrun starts at 9.30am then Aberdeen Beach parkrun will start at 11am.

New Years Day is the only day of the year when you are permitted to run two parkruns on the same day.

I hope you can join us for these extra special runs.

This week 217 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 17 were first timers and 62 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 14 different clubs took part.

-         The female record is held by Nicola GAULD who recorded a time of 17:50 on 19th December 2015 (event number 65).

-         The male record is held by Gideon GATHIMBA who recorded a time of 14:48 on 18th February 2017 (event number 126).

-         The Age Grade course record is held by Carolyn MILNE who recorded 93.31% (19:40) on 14th May 2016 (event number 86).

Hazlehead parkrun, Aberdeen started on 16th August 2014. Since then 4,467 participants have completed 24,293 parkruns covering a total distance of 121,465 km, including 5,429 new Personal Bests.
