Race Report Event 34 - 13th March 2010

RUNNER BARCODE + NUMBER BARCODE = NAME ON RESULTS PAGE!!!!!!!

FIRSTLY A MAJOR REMINDER... BARCODES ARE A MUST AS THIS IS EXTREMELY TIME CONSUMING TO DO... WE HAD TO DO 33 NON-BARCODERS THIS WEEK... 1 hour of time that could have been used somewhere else.  NON-BARCODERS will start to notice that their names will not appear on the results page as the start date was 6th March for this and everyone should be printing off their BARCODES.. If you remember the number off it you can use this at the Registration Desk.

We had 163 runners this week... 43 of which were first timers... welcome and hope you enjoyed your first run with us.

Well done to 66 of our runners who recorded their PB's this week.

Congratulations to Paul Freary of Belgrave Harriers for coming 1st for the 6th time and also for gaining a new PB.

Rebecca Flanagan hit a new PB at the same time as gaining her 10 run t-shirt from Parkrun.

Thank you to all our Voluneers this week... We're sure Rick was thankful for all our volunteers this week as Mark and myself were away..

If you would like to volunteer and help out at parkrun please email www.heatonoffice@parkrun.com

Reminders!!!!

Personal Belongings

Please can you remember to put all your Personal Belongings next to Registration Desk at the wall side. This is so that the table and chairs are left for the dog walkers to use.

Change for parking

Please start bringing change for parking if you have not been charged as yet you might do very soon as the weather is getting warmer and the parking attendents are coming out earlier. The Lakeside Carpark is £1.00 (If it's changed and someone knows let us know and we'll amend this amount as soon as).

Upcoming local races

We will update this list as often as possible, please support our local races, many of which help club funds and charities.

March 24th 2010 6:30pm
Vera Hirst 5K, Littleborough
http://www.ukresults.net/10mar.html#hirst

This 5K course has a very simlar tough rating as heaton parkrun, so if you can get round our course this one is a great one for you. It is organised by Andy O'Sullivan MBE and the course is used several times throughout the year. Very popular and you can register on the night at the Falcon Pub. (Mark and Clare Kelly will be taking part this year so we hope to see plenty of you)

Results will be late, very late today

Hi all,
just to let you know that there is a problem with the result processing today. I have advised Rick to leave the results for me to do when I get back from the Dent race. So I hope to have it fixed by 10:00pm. Sorry for any delay :(

regards

Mark

Event 34 Volunteer Request

Just a few marshall's more....

If you are wanting to volunteer for this week's parkrun but haven't got round to emailing as yet... please email www.heatonoffice@parkrun.com it would be nice to see a few more 's around the course...

As Mark and myself are not there this week please can all the Marshall's bring back the relevant signs around their posts... also please remember the signs around the golf course as  I'm sure next week you would still like to see the 3k sign ... It would also help Rick out in a big way.

Well have a fantastic time this week... you are all doing fantastic!!!

For and on behalf of all the committee members.

Kind Regards

Race Report Event 33 - 6th March 2010

The Temperatures Rising... parkrun is getting big... 4 sub 17's and a visit from Lucozade!!!

Firstly we would like to say a literal warm welcome to our 185 runners... the most we have had so far.  48 of which were first timers.. we hope you enjoyed your first run with us and come back again next week to do it all again!!

Congratulations to 87 runners for recording their PB's.

We have had a really exciting run this week where we have had 4 sub 17's. It was a fantastic fight to the finish line between Rob J Hughes and Paul Matthew Savage - both representing Salford Harriers... only 1 second in it... and then closely followed by another one representing Salford Harriers James Kovacs and then not long after Nathan Kilcourse. Well done guys keep it up.

Thank you to all our volunteers... we had a tremendous turnout this week... your cheering and encouragement as runners passed was fantastic...

If you would like to be a volunteer please email www.heatonoffice@parkrun.com we always need volunteers and it's nice to see new faces cheering runners on...

A big thank you to Emma from Lucozade Sport for visiting us for the second time... It took the interest of many of our runners to discuss the products and take some samples.

REMINDERS

BARCODES

This week was our first week for barcodes only... we had 29 runners without barcodes out of 185 runners... for the 29 runners that did not have a barcode this gave an extra 2 hours work to get them on our results page... Yes 2 hours for 29 non-barcode runners.. so please can everyone remember to print out their barcodes and make sure they bring them with them as this will save an awful lot of time and the results will get uploaded alot sooner.

Also, just to remind you the barcodes also give you 10% off at Sweatshop in the Arndale Centre at Manchester. So if you need a new pair of running shoes and haven't printed your barcode off yet what are you waiting for.

WEATHER

As the weather is now becoming warmer there will be more dogs out on the course... please be extra careful if you pass them.. for the dogs safety and your own.

Please make sure you hydrate yourself properly for the warmer weather.  We don't want anyone curling over at the last bend now do we... or before for that matter.

TAGS

When you have completed the run and you go through the funnel you will receive a tag. Please can you make sure you give these in at the Registration Desk.
