3rd March 2018 – Event Cancellation

It is with much regret that I inform you that we have made the decision to cancel Kesgrave parkun on 3rd March 2018.

Although the running surface may seem fine to run on, knowing that the car park currently resembles an ice rink, the surrounding roads are not gritted and know matter how much we asked, people would still drive over, for the safety of everyone, we have cancelled.  We also know that the volunteers could be outside for an hour or more tomorrow in bitterly cold wind which isn't fun for anyone.

The core team have not taken this decision lightly, in fact this is only the second time in 3.5 years we've ever cancelled.

Have a well deserved lay in everyone.  Thank you for your continued support and see you next Saturday, 10th March.

1st January 2018 – New Years Day parkrun

...more exciting news!

The Core Team of Kesgrave parkrun are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a New Years Day parkrun.  The start time of this event will be 8:45am.  This is to allow people to be able to complete two parkruns in one day.  For example, you'll have plenty of time to get over to Ipswich parkrun for their 10:30am start.  This is the only day in the whole year that you're allowed to do two parkruns in a day!

Marshals will be limited for this run, but they will certainly be pleased to see you.

What a wonderful way to start the year!

Jen & the Core Team

Christmas Day – 25th December 2017

Exciting News!

The Core Team of Kesgrave parkrun are delighted to announce that we will again be hosting Kesgrave parkrun on Christmas morning.  We did this for the first time last year and had 100 finishers and it was a lovely way to start the day.

Christmas Day start time is 9:00am.

Marshals will be limited & there may well be some mince pies!

Look forward to seeing you there!

New Years Day 2017

Hi everyone!

There will be an extra parkrun on New Years Day (01/01/2017!) starting at 10.30am, after the Ipswich parkrun earlier that morning.

PLEASE be considerate with your arrangements to travel to the event, car share, bike, walk, scoot, skip, skate, ski (if its snows) - in other words, please try not to bring a car as we are expecting this event to be well attended.

Many thanks,

Jenny & the Core Team

Christmas 2016

Hi everyone,

Good News!  There is going to be a parkrun at Kesgrave for the first time this year on Christmas Day!  Start time is 9am.

This will be parkrun 'light'.  There will two marshals, one at the Oak Tree and one at Perry's Perch at Bell Lane.  There will be two timekeepers, one volunteer on finish tokens & we are hoping that the first few finishers will take on the job of barcode scanning if just for 10 minutes before passing it on to someone else etc.. etc..  If you think you might want to walk it that morning, then please volunteer to be a tail runners.

There'll be no hot refreshments but I'm sure there'll be mince pies & other chocolate goodies!

Best wishes,

Jenny & the Core Team
