About Us

King's Lynn parkrun is a FREE weekly 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 9am at The Walks, King's Lynn, Norfolk.

It is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan.

It offers an opportunity for all the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy this beautiful park and get physically active into the bargain. We want to encourage people to jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE!

Taking part is easy – just register before your first ever parkrun. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

After the run, if you don’t have to get off straight away, there will be the chance to socialise with everyone at cafe within The Walks, to maybe swap stories about your run that day, chat to other runners over a cup of tea or coffee and just be an important part of this new running community.

So whether you are a complete novice looking to get yourself started on your own "running journey" or a seasoned athlete wanting to use this as a part of your training schedule, you’re welcome to come along and join us.

I've been a member of the Lynnsport Ladybirds running club on and off since 2000. Sometimes more on that off but it is great knowing that every Wednesday there are a group of fellow Ladybirds running in and around King's Lynn that I can join to run with whilst having a good chat and a laugh. I run because it helps clear my head (keeping me sane), its sociable and helps in getting me fit. It's cheap and a great way to explore the area and make friends.

I decided to be a run director because I was so pleased that parkrun was coming to King's Lynn and I think it's important that the local clubs are involved in such a local event. I hope King's Lynn parkrun will keep growing and spreading the word about how great running is whether you finish first or last in such a fantastic venue.

I have been a member of Ryston Runners since 1987. Although I can’t bear to admit it, I run because I love it and can’t give it up. I decided to be a run director of the parkrun to promote participation in something that everyone can be part of and take part in.

I hope Kings Lynn parkrun grows and continues to provide an opportunity for everyone in the community to try running.

I've been a member of the Lynnsport Ladybirds running club since 2006 which is when I really took up running regularly. I run because I want to stay fit and active and I like the people I meet. I decided to be a run director because I love the idea of a free, community event in such a beautiful urban park. I hope King's Lynn parkrun will flourish and encourage people of all abilities to turn up, have a go and enjoy the sociable atmosphere.

I was formerly a member of West Norfolk Athletics club for around 5 years. parkrun has got me running again after a long injury break.

I’d run the Bramhall parkrun before and enjoyed it. I decided to be a run director because I was keen to get parkrun off the ground in Kings Lynn. I hope the Walks parkrun will see over 100 regular runners in the future.

I’m not a member of a running club at the moment but used to run with the Hyde Park Harriers in Leeds. I was first inspired to run by my wife Fran.

Having been event director for the Bradford parkrun I wanted to spread the parkrun bug to Norfolk when I moved down here. I’d like to see King’s Lynn’s parkrun encouraging as many ‘non-runners’ to take part as possible.
