A massive welcome and well done to all the 1st timers to parkrun this week - James Totterdell, Katie Arnold, Rob Mashiter, Simon Rhodes, Nicola Squires, Margaret Costello, Mark Jones, Matt Blackman, Zoe Barstow, Laura Haines, Toby Brooks, James Barker, Amanda Meredith and Stephanie Warburton, We all know how hard it can be to find the courage to turn up for your first parkrun and then you soon realise that you had absolutely nothing to worry about.
Not forgetting the tourists who decided to visit us at Kingsway parkrun for the first time - Craig Whiteley, Lizzie Barstow, Chris Ellis, Jill Barker and James Sage, thank you for joining us and we hope you enjoyed your visit.
A lovely turnout today, in total 285 people crossed the finish line.
Congratulations also to Stuart Wheeler and Katherine Butler on each completing your 50th parkrun and also to Amanda Preece for her 25th volunteer role.
So this week it was pacer week, there were pacers for 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 minutes which was very impressive, thank you very much to the all pacers and volunteers as always, parkrun wouldn’t happen without your help every week.
If you have never volunteered it’s definitely worth doing so at some point, you will be shown what to do and you will feel amazing for doing so.
In the absence of any pics to hand this week........we have delved into the archives and found this pic below. Way before parkrun at Kingsway started, to the bottom left of the pic the orchard at Manor Farm can be seen as can Woodvale and the rear of Lyneham which was to become part of the parkrun course leading towards the playground.
1st runner to cross the finish line was Owen Stinchcombe in an amazing 18:42
