We today announce the end of our three-and-half year partnership with adidas. Since July 2011 the sportswear brand have been an official sponsor of parkrun UK and that partnership will now come to an end with immediate effect. Thanks in part to the support of adidas we have gone from strength to strength, with 54 weekly events at the start of our relationship growing to over 330 by December 2014. The partnership has also encouraged growth in grass-roots participation by celebrating runners' milestones through the parkrun Club t-shirts and trialling innovative new products at local events.
The last three-and-a-half years have been an amazing journey and have taken us from being a relatively small series of timed running events to the largest in the World, with over 55,000 participants most Saturdays. Our growth looks set to continue and we expect to launch another 100 events in the UK in next 12 months.
I understand that you may be concerned about the Club t-shirts but rest assured we have a solution in place that will be announced in the next 24 hours.
