Princes parkrun festive schedule

Its that time of year to announce our festive parkrun schedule. Here's the list of our events coming up over the festive period:

Saturday 15th December: Normal time 9:00
Saturday 22nd December: Normal time 9:00
Christmas Day: No Event
Saturday 29th December: Normal time 9:00
Tuesday 1st January: NYD Special 10:30 start time
Saturday 5th January: Normal time 9:00

As you can see we will not be holding a Christmas Day event yet we will be holding a bonus event on NYD as usual. We will start at 10:30 giving you the chance to attempt the NYD double. Check out parkrun listings to see which local events have early starts if you would like to attempt a double

 

Run Report Event #398 1st December 2018

I damp and windy morning welcomed just under 300 runners to Princes parkrun. The 2nd round of silent marshal idol commenced in the absence of Mr Boyd and we had some fabulous work from SallyAnn and Mary!

Run Report Event #394 3rd November 2018

Over 400 made the journey to Princes park for their parkrun fix this morning. We were without our famous silent marshal, Steven Boyd, so Silent Marshal Idol commenced with our first contestant, the Bruchez- Corbetts looking after the obelisk, silently, obviously! Well done guys you where great and we loved the signs! If you fancy being a stand in silent marshal or volunteering in any position get in touch!

Run Report Event #393 27th October 2018

A chilly but glorious morning welcomed over 350 parkrunners to Princes today. On our special Halloween Hat day both volunteers and runners got into the 'spirit' with some ghoulish get ups and terrifying top hats. Our very own scary silent marshal, Steven Boyd took home the volunteers prize and a Frankenstine, Dracula and tiny Batman took home the runners treats. Well done to all who took part!

It was a special day also for Princes regular Heather Welsby who smashed through to reach the amazing milestone of 300 parkruns! Well done Heather and here's to the next 300!

This week 359 zombies, ghosts, ghouls, vampires and monsters ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 65 were first timers and 52 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 30 different clubs took part.

Run Report Event #392 20th October 2018

This week we waved goodbye to Volunteer stalwart Dave Dando who is heading to a land down under for 6 months. Dave is a true parkrun legend who has been in involved on the core team in almost every role and working on our results practically every week. Dave is also heavily involved in Stanley Park Junior parkrun and is a parkrun Ambassador for the area. He will be greatly missed while away, we wish him luck and will do our best to keep things ticking over during his time in Oz.

Run Report Event #391 13th October 2018

Biblical weather welcomed a stalwart team of volunteers and nearly 300 runners to Princes park this week. Through wind and driving rain all our runners and volunteers showed the true parkrun spirit. Well done to everyone who ran and a massive shout out to our volunteers who gave up there time in some challenging conditions to make it happen.

All our kit was drenched following the run, plus we had a scanner failure mid run in the conditions. The whole team worked very hard to process the results and do the best we could for you guys who ran. We thank you for your patience and again a big shout out for those who helped sort through soggy barcodes and carefully went through soaking sheets of paper to review our unscannable lists and inputted results post event, well done everyone :)

This week 283 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 27 were first timers and 18 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 20 different clubs took part.
