Hello all,
Have you noticed anything different about our saturday gatherings lately?.
For starters, the weather has improved significantly, 9am on saturday
mornings are no longer absolutely freezing events.
Secondly, the park is getting a lot busier so please be aware that we share
the park with other users and be careful of youngsters who are not so quick
to get out of the way. Running around them is a perfect way to increase
your speed and add a little fun to your morning run.
Now on to the nitty gritty, the race report.
We don't play around at Pymmes Park, to win the race you will probably have
to produce a PB and this is what the first and 2nd place winner had to do.
Stuart came in 1st with a time of 20:29min and hot on his tails was our
inimitable Vegan runner Robert with a PB timed at 21:00min third placed
chris was only 30secs behind.
Ladies and gentlemen, did you witness this epic run? if not could you
imagine being in each of their shoes.
Heart thumping, breathless, every sinew of muscle in your body focused on
placing one foot in front of the other faster than the person hot at your
heels.
Congrats gentlemen, you inspire us!.
Next up we need to must commend Ricky and Marc for coming in with PB's as
well. Ricky has also joined the double digits club (this is tenth run)
Thanks to all the volunteers you make Parkrun what it is.
P.S. Please do remember to stretch and warm up before the race.
here are a few guidelines:

Welcome all,
Last week we celebrated our one year anniversary, this week was business as
usual with a slight twist. The sun had come out to play with us.
Shortly before 9am, the park was buzzing with the usual suspects aka the
'Pymmes Parkrun Posse'.
Shout out to the three first timers (Graeme, Adrian, Louise and Toni). How
did you like our lovely little course? hope to see you again soon.
Our leader for this week was Charlie Machione, who blazed the winning trail
with the only PB for the week!. Good going Charlie!.
Hot on Charlie's tail was Brian who came in 2nd, (Bravo!)
The royal battle took place for the the 3rd position (claimed by Adrian)
and 4th position ( claimed by Scott). There was only a 7 second difference
between them, what a race!
Also a special salutation for our other Adrian who has been providing his
services as a tail sweeper for a number weeks. After he finishes his race,
he helps to bring the rest of the runners home. A round of applause to you
Sir.
A bit trivia this week.
Did you know that the original direction of the race, is actually reverse
direction of what we running now?.
Apparently, the first Pymmes Parkrun runners mistakenly ran it backwards
and it has stayed that way ever since.
Have you noticed the park is getting a little bit busier on saturday
mornings? I've certainly caught a few people checking out our 'posse' with
a curious look. So if you get to the park early, do stop to say hi to the
curious folks and invite them to join us.
Do make way for dogs, our people with strollers at the park, slower
joggers, and those not in our 'posse'.
Finally, many of you have your ipods on whilst running, What exactly are
you listening to?. Share your playlist with the posse! (smile)
And with that short spiel,
I bid you, Ladies, Gentlemen and Canine
a warm Pymmes Parkrun Posse, adieu
May your feet feel rested
do cool your heels..
for, next saturday morning
we will do it all over again!

And so it was, that on the 31st of March 2012 10 members of ‘Pymmes
Parkrun Posse’ gathered together to battle the elements one more time
for the weekly Parkrun.
The story of the race was one of courage against a blustery wind,
strength which kept members of the posse going and dear I say it,
charm as they smiled for the camera as tried to capture their speeding
motion.
Records were broken, we had 7 PB’s
Robert led the way this week, reclaiming his top spot for the month
March by coming in first with time of 21:44 (a PB)
So lets give a cheer to (Robert, Austen, Femi, Marc, Libertine, Janet,
& Donna) for hitting those PB’s it was a sight to behold.
Yvonne & Robert joined the double digits club as she hit ten runs and all
the veterans will tell you, it only gets better from here
Next week we celebrate our 1 year anniversary of Pymmes Parkrun so we have
special lined up. The course will be run in reverse and please
wear something BLUE.
That’s for now, in the meantime, we have some pictures… enjoy ☺
See you next week, where we do it all over again.
We run not for fashion or fame,
We run for the taste of victory
in conquering Pymmes Parkrun 5k
