Help

Registration Page

Thank you for taking time to fill out the registration. We only ask for information we need to operate our events (we do not ask for your address, for example). In most cases the information is used to accurately identify all our runners and make sure they are credited with the correct run.

First Names

Please enter all your first names - we have over 70,000 registered athletes and it's important that we are able to distinguish one athlete from another. This is particularly important if you have a popular or common name. At the very least, please give your first name and middle initials if you have any.

Last Name

Please enter your full family name.

Home Run

We ask all runners where their home run is, because we like to know where our new runners are likely to be each week, and it also helps us to identify you. But you can still run at whichever event you want, whenever you want.

Gender

Along with Date of Birth, we ask for your gender to categorise our results correctly (by sex and age). We also use it to give you your Age Grade calculation (described in more detail on the advice page).

Date of Birth

Along with Gender, we ask for your datae of birth to categorise our results correctly (by sex and age). We also use it to give you your Age Grade calculation (described in more detail on the advice page). We often also use date of birth to help identify our runners.

Running Club

We ask everybody for their running club so we can compile results lists for all the clubs represented at our events each week. If your club is not listed please get in touch with the office (office@parkrun.com) - although it's often worth checking alternative versions of your club name first. If you don't belong to a club or rather wouldn't say please leave it set to 'unattached'.

Email

We send all runners a confirmation that their registration has been successful by email. We also send results confirmation through to each runner when they run. We also very occasionally get in touch with individiual runners by email if we have a query about the results. We also send out a regular newsletter about parkrun, although you are able to opt out of this now or at any point in the future.

Important note to BTInternet / Yahoo email address holders: For reasons unknown, we find it difficult to send mails to these addresses.  Please make sure that you have added the office@parkrun.com address to your trusted sites list (sorry, but we can't offer technical support with that) before registering. Alternatively, and probably easier, try an email account with a different provider.

Confirm Email

The commonest reason by far, that people fail to get their confirmation email, is that they have mis-typed their address. We ask you to confirm your email address here, in an attempt to spot this problem now rather than later.

Emails Opt Out

If you want to opt out of the newsletter please let us know here. Alternatively, you are able to opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter.

Exercise Frequency

We ask how often you have done some exercise in the last month, because it helps us with councils and other organisations when we are trying to launch new events and get funding to support our existing events around the country. We only share total numbers with external organisations - not the details of individuals, but if you would still rather not give us this information, that's fine; just set the drop down box to "Rather not say / Don't know".

Terms & Conditions

It is a condition of taking part in parkrun that you accept our terms and conditions. Please take a few minutes to read through the terms and signal your acceptance by checking the box.
