Defibrillator fundraising – we need your help!

parkrun will always be free, but sometimes we need to raise funds for essential equipment and now is one of those times.  For the safety of our parkrunners we feel it is vital to have a defibrillator at Rogiet Countryside Park with us every Saturday.  In the short term Caldicot Town Council have kindly loaned us a defibrillator, which a volunteer collects from them on a Friday afternoon and returns on a Monday morning.

Now that we are well-established it is time to buy our own defibrillator, one that can be available in the community for parkrun and other events.  Although there are public access defibrillators located in Rogiet, they are situated in cabinets and are only to be taken when they are needed.  This unfortunately isn't suitable for us - if we need a defibrillator during parkrun we need it to be right there with us at the park ready to use.

A suitable defibrillator will cost £995 and we are sure that our parkrunners can help us to reach this target.  We are unable to accept cash donations but donations can be made online by visiting our 'about us' page and clicking on the 'Donate to parkrun' image.

We are very grateful to Caldicot Town Team for a donation of £150 towards this from Hoggin' the Bridge funds, and a further donation of £300 is on it's way from Magor Churchmen.  With a further £20 donation from a parkrunner already in the account that makes £470.

So Rogiet parkrunners, can you help us raise the remaining £525?  We know you can!

Update - 22nd July 2018 - as of 8pm we're now at £615!

We have received a kind offer to match fund £200 from runners who make donations from yesterday's parkrun onwards.  We have received £30 of donations since the run and I'm sure we can speed ahead and get the rest in no time at all!

A big thank you to Paul Borrow-Longain of Terrestres Servo Coronas for your generous offer.  We hope to be in touch with good news very soon.

Come on parkrunners, every £ helps!

 Update 26th July 2018 - as of 10pm we're now at £755

Today we received a very generous donation from local business Nathan James Mortgage Services of Caldicot.  They have kindly given Rogiet parkrun £100 towards our defibrillator fund.  We are hugely grateful for their support.

Come on parkrunners, we're nearly there!
