Event 228 19 August 2015

The Bank Holiday weekend got off to a great start with perfect weather and a full complement of volunteers. Many thanks to our fab volunteers.

We had a great turnout – 265 athletes not counting buggies and dogs including 15 first timers. It was a good day for PBs; in fact, the first three runners achieved their best time this morning:

1              Christopher RUSSELL      17:20

2              Nicholas CHARLESWORTH            17:58

3              Tom VENNING  17:59

The first three female finishers were clustered around the 21 minute mark

1              Lucy HURN          21:14 (PB)

2              Kathryn FISK      21:19 (PB)

3              Niamh JACKSON               21:28

Among notable PBs were:

Ronald Sousa broke the 20 minute barrier this week with  19:53.

Jonathan Flockton sneaked under 21 minutes with 20:53.

Richard Spencer broke 25minutes with 24:41

Lloyd Hastie who came in at under 28 minutes (27:55) almost 10 minutes faster than his first Roundhay parkrun.

Anne Jones knocked almost 30 seconds from her previous fastest time with 29:08.

Good running to everyone. Hope you had a great time.

It was great to have a bit of a celebration after parkrun, and this week it was Carlos Martinez Garcia who completed his 50th run and Steve Shaw who celebrated his 50th Birthday.

Joel Giddings had the highest number of runs with 255, but Graham Pawley was not too far behind with 247.

The highest age grading was achieved by Nicholas Charlesworth -81.45%.
