By Tim Gray (Chiltern Church Runners/Collingwood AC)
Of on tour again the summary I got from my source at the event was ‘slippery’ – and certainly the PB’s seem to prove that point, only 4;
|Chukwuebuka NKAMUO||Croydon Harriers|
|Chizoba Carl NKAMUO||Croydon Harriers|
And of those exactly zero people had 10 or more runs at Roundshaw – so not a day for speed.
NB Late correction after a scanning issue;
on the occasion of his 12th run got a pb!
Also not a day for brand new runners – not a one. But we did have some visitors;
|Pamela MUNRO||Ripon Runners||Fountains Abbey parkrun|
|Stephen GOULD||Lloyd parkrun, Croydon|
|Raff VITALE||Horsham Joggers||Horsham parkrun|
|Matthew FOSTER||Lloyd parkrun, Croydon|
Raff I note is clearly a tourist – and also a ‘Single-ton’ in two places as he has over 100 runs at both Horsham and Tilgate. He also has a very extensive volunteer history – so a bit of an all rounder!
We had some milestones; Sheldon Varun got to junior 10, Zakary Hansen to his 50, and Richard Apiah-Ampofo to his 100 – well done to you all, great work.
With a Collingwood AC mob match at Banstead, and a Church mob match at Bushy taking a number of runners of on tour we had our quietest day since November.
At Bushy we had great fun, and everyone in my family (except me) got a course best! If you have never been, consider making the ‘Bushy pilgrimage’ to run with over a 1000 other runners in the truly beautiful surroundings that are the spiritual home of parkrun. If you drive though, arrive early – by about 8.20 the nearest car park was full, and at least 3 of our runners started late after an unexpected warm up from a distant parking spot elsewhere!
I know others made it further away with the Quested's, Nikki T, Alison S-T, and Rosemary all in Leipzig - German parkrun - very efficient.
But for now, here are the stats, see you next week;
