So the week of the London Marathon is often a busy one for parkrun nationally – and this was the case again. At least 3 of the volunteers ran VLM the next day – whilst at least one volunteered there! Roundshaw saw a few more runners than we have seen in the last 2 months also – hot and sweaty perhaps, but at least firmer under foot and dry.
A special day for Alan SILLITTO with his 100th run – which was also his 100th run at Roundshaw. This year has already seen both his pb, and best age graded score – so on the up Alan, well done to you.
Rupert Quested also ran his best time since 2015 – so very well done to you as well Rupert. Must have been the inspiration of having Eleanor visiting from Perth.
PB’s – to many to list them all – so I’ll pick out all the ones with 30 or more runs at Roundshaw;
|Thomas SCHOFIELD||Sutton Runners|
|Aaron MORRELL||South London Harriers|
Having said that, well done to all of you.
Brand new to parkrun today were;
Welcome to the family.
And visitors were;
|Nigel HAFFENDEN||Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC||Bromley parkrun|
|Stephen DAVISON||Tourist in training|
|Sally HAFFENDEN||Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC||Bromley parkrun|
Roundshaw on tour;
My family went to Victoria Docks parkrun this week – a flat fast run potentially – and accessible by cable car! There we were delighted to see former Roundshaw regular Ercole who dashed round sub 20 in an awesome run, and we also had the delight of the company of Alison S-T.
It was a special pleasure on Sunday morning to see so many of you on the baggage trucks for VLM, being surrounded by friendly faces is such a nice start to any event. Also impressed that Steve and Tamsyn hung on long enough by the Tower of London to see me running back – another very welcome sight.
