Hi All

Nike Swift Running Bra Activity

As you may or may not know Nike are about to launch their fist ever Nike Running Bra collection for women.

They are finding from research that there is still a lack of knowledge from women about what type of bra to wear when running and would like to carry out some education and trials around this at our parkrun.

Nike will be at our parkrun on Saturday 21st August

The trial activity will:

  • educate female runners about the importance of wearing the correct support,
  • encourage product trial and feedback (an opportunity which runners never encounter with a bra)
  • offer a purchase incentive

The Nike representative attending on the day will be Danielle Watts.  She will be available from 8.30am onwards for consultations and advice, and will stay until after the run has finished.

Hope you can make it

Sweatshop Monthly Prize winner

We are pleased to announce that this month's Sweatshop Monthly Prize winner is HARRY HARRISON.

Congratulations to Harry who ran 3 times in the month with 2 PB’s, after 16 runs Harry is still improving his time. Harry has 5 PB's to his name in total and I am sure there are more to come.

We'd like to thank Hugh Brasher of Sweatshop for his generosity and to congratulate Dean on his achievement. His prize is a new pair of running shoes fitted at the local Sweatshop.

The winner is chosen by the event. The successful candidates are often chosen for their perseverance, number of PBs in one month, total number of runs and improvement overall. However, we can award the prize for other reasons at our discretion. If you know someone who has overcome adversity, personal illness or is deserving in any other way, please let us know by emailing sunderlandPR@parkrun.com and we promise to consider your nomination.

I will be bringing a laminator with me on Saturday, anyone who wants their barcode laminated come to Sainsbury’s for a coffee after the run and we will do it for you.

Congratulations to those who completed the Sunderland 10K on Sunday!

See you all on Saturday.
