Introducing.......

This week's run report is brought to you by one of our excellent DofE volunteers - Ciara Powell.

parkrun report 232

Since October I've been volunteering at Tring parkrun and this week was the last for my bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. During this time, I have taken part with many roles including bar code scanning, car park marshal, finish tokens, course set up and many more.

parkrun has helped grow my confidence in public situations and has also managed to force me out the house before 8am on a Saturday morning. If you are interested in helping, speak to the RD on Saturday morning or you can email tringhelpers@parkrun.com.

Ciara's "badges" for volunteering. Can you figure out which is which?

Although it was freezing, the 26th of January wasn't as bad as any other January day. The conditions may however be worse this week since it could snow, so check the weather before you start your journey to Tring Park.

A huge well done to all 254 runners this week:

First male was Roland KEMP in 20:32, and first female Mary WARD in 23:28. Congratulations to Chris WILCOCK for achieving his 50 shirt (and getting within 1 second of his PB); George WILLIMENT for volunteering 25 times; Ewan MAXWELL for finishing 8th on his 8th parkrun, and 4 PBs in 4 weeks for Garry STROUD and 3 in 3 weeks for Ian SLOAN. Full results are on the Tring Parkrun web page.

Fantastic, photoframe, fun.

Angus EVANS becomes the 77th person to run 77 times at Tring. No stranger to this award, he was the 47th to run 47 times and 48th to run 48. And Samantha HOLLIER becomes the 141st person to run 50 times at Tring.

Minute 27 was the busiest minute with 24 runners. Of those who have run 5+ times at Tring, the biggest improvers were Emily SCOTT (1:25), Charles ASHWELL (1:11), George BUDD (0:53), Katie YOUNG (0:50), and Shaun O'CONNOR (0:50).

And finally, thanks to the team of volunteers who make it all possible. This week, they were: Susan BIRCH, Marcus BIRCH, Andrew BOOTH, Pauline BROWN, Harry T BRYANT, Dominic CECERE, Shane CHEUNG, Shelley DEVERALL-ROBERTS, Ken DOUGLAS, Gary EVANS, Ann-Marie EVANS, Andy EVANS, George FLETCHER, Samuel FRYER, Katie HAINES, Jasmine MARGETTS, Edward MARGETTS, Isobel MONKS, Chris NICHOLLS, Robert NORRIS, Thomas PAGE, Maura PATTERSON, Jim PATTERSON, Ciara POWELL, Claudia SELINA, Emma SMITH, Ella VAN DE LINDE, Oliver WEST, Chris WILLIAMSON and Allison WILLIMENT.

You can see our current volunteer roster here.

We encourage all parkrunners to volunteer a few times a year. If you can help on any future date, or would like to find out more about our volunteer and helper roles, then - as Ciara mentioned - please email us at tringhelpers@parkrun.com.

We now have two excellent parkrun podcasts available each week. "Free Weekly Timed" is the official parkrun podcast with Vassos Alexander and Louise Ayling. We also have "With Me Now" with Danny Norman and Nicola Forwood which is an independent parkrun-based podcast.
