Anniversary Hiccough


 

 

One hundred and eleven finishers this morning but a hiccough with the finishing tokens means a bit of work to do today to try and rectify!

Event 52 WOO HOO


 

 

Well what a week.

The lovely Wardens made sure that our stolen finish post was replaced with a temporary post. Young George Day - going from strength to strength - finally caught up with his Parkrun 10 T-shirt. Fourth finisher Patrick Brown was awarded a £25 voucher [for use at Sweatshop at Stratford City] for being our 2012 finisher since we started. We broke our previous attendance record with 69 finishers. The sun was lovely and warm on the slightly puddley course that had a minor alteration just for safety sake.

Great Wanstead Flats spirit shown by Dan Spinks staying with his injured colleague Mark Wyatts, who 'power hopped' to the finish. [Now that's plyometrics for you]

We continue, after 1 year, to have a ratio of roughly 1 in 3 runs as a PB run. 24 this week.

As always a great big thanks to the volunteers. If you havent helped much in the first year we hope you will do so in our second year - which technically starts next week.

Our first anniversary event next week with cakes [please bring some :-)] medals for first 140 ish finishers, awards for Parkrunners of the year, free massage! from a qualified masseuse. And as always the usual Wanstead Flats friendly welcome. :-)

Sweatshop Monthly Prize - April 2012


 

 

CONGRATULATIONS Tommy Bower

Tommy, who has been attending Wanstead Flats Parkrun since last Summer, [setting 5 PBs and finishing first on 14 out of the 15 times he has completed the event]  has been awarded April's Sweatshop Monthly Prize.
