Bright and breezy!

It's a quiet time of year for Aberystwyth, with the peak of the holiday season over, and most of the students not back yet, so it was lovely to have a visitor from High Wycombe! A lot of our regulars were racing this weekend too, with the Abersoch half marathon and the Trailfest happening on the Saturday. Best of luck to our runners heading down to race in Swansea on Sunday! For the 101 runners who ran at this, our 373rd Aberystwyth parkrun, the weather was warm and sunny but there was a strong breeze which made the going a bit tough, so well done all!

Event 370, last day of summer!

Aberystwyth parkrun - 31st August 2019

Here's her fundraising page if you want to contribute.

Naomi’s 50th and pre-Race the Train!

A warm and dry, but breezy day for a parkrun. It was Naomi's 50th so there was plenty of cake afterwards! We had lots of lovely tourists and visitors - welcome all, we love to hear where you've all travelled from and we hope you enjoyed your stay in Aberystwyth. Race the Train was taking place on the afternoon of this parkrun; we had one sensible parkrunner who used the opportunity to volunteer rather than run, to save his legs for racing the train, and we had one crazy visitor who ran parkrun before racing the train - glad to hear you enjoyed both, Sanjay!

Event # 366 on a hot humid morning!

Another scorcher of a morning, and our second highest attendance with 150 parkrunners, many of them visitors from all over the country - welcome all, and thanks for your kind remarks. Despite the warm conditions, local lad (now in Exeter) Ollie Thorogood managed to bag a PB and finish first in the process. Ollie knows the course well, in contrast to the first female finisher, Rebecca, a visitor from Stafford who was a first-timer at this event! Many of this morning's runners were also planning to run the Borth Beach 10k the next day - a perfect weekend of running! Many thanks to all our lovely volunteers who helped to make the event go so smoothly.

Event #361 Another taste of summer!

Volunteers in t-shirts, very few outer layers on the finish bench, and people hanging around after their run for a chat - that's the beauty of warm summery weather. Congratulations to Mel on his 250th run, those dark green milestone t-shirts are hard to achieve!
