Lots of hot air! Event number 36 18th September 2021

Firstly thank you to all those who have made a donation towards our recent appeal for a storage solution for all our equipment, any donations towards our parkrun fund can be made on our ‘about us’ page on the website, and will be used wisely by the team. Hopefully we’ll soon be able to store more of our equipment on site which will help the volunteers enormously, it is a big task to take everything home and then arrange it to be passed to the next volunteer team each week. There are also always small running expenses such as first aid stocks, course lay out equipment, storage equipment, we are hoping that we can purchase a shed with some security locks really soon, so your donations will help this happen.

Those who arrived very early this week were greeted with a sight of a huge red hot air balloon in the start and finish field. Luckily they were due for take off so we were soon clear to set up the course.

Simon was RD this week, it was his first time in the RD seat and he did a fantastic job, thanks Simon.

Adam was in what is fast becoming his regular spot (when he’s not touring) giving the first timers and tourist briefing.
In all we had 24 volunteers this week, thanks go to each and every one, we couldn’t have parkrun without you. Please do let us know if you can also volunteer in the coming weeks.

We can’t mention everyone but here are some of the achievements this week:

Christopher Nightingale ran his 50th parkrun. He was visiting us for the first time after normally running at Crewe and Congleton.
Two people ran their first ever parkrun with us this week, Nicola Collins and Myles Fisher, we hope you’ll be back.

Nine people ran their all important 2nd parkrun this week! David Berrisford, Lucy Berrisford, Toby Hassall, Emily Ritch, Helen McCabe, Danni Hassall, Mick Sturland, Simon Clutton and Bev Adams.

Zoe Hodge returned for her 3rd parkrun and Abi Pomerantz returned for her 4th, both with an impressive record of a PB every week since starting.

When looking at the PBs for this week it couldn’t go unnoticed that out of 22 PBs, 4 of them went to people with the surname PENNEY, is this a record in itself?

We also noticed that John Davies completed his 299th parkrun while visiting us this week, John has completed many different courses, congratulations in advance for your 300th soon.
Annie Dale joined the Junior 10 club running at Northwich this week.

This week 97 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 18 were first timers and 22 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 11 different clubs took part.
