Thank you to Nathan Troon, who wrote this account of his run with us this week, please don't be shy about about coming forward to write us a paragraph or two for a run report, it is always interesting to hear from our parkrunners. If you have any milestones to include, then also get in touch and we can include them:
This parkrun came after a week of nearly non stop rain!
Despite this the course was not too wet, but the grass was slippy in parts.
Surprisingly I did not have mud splattered up my legs once I finished, which is not like previous times!
At the start of my 2nd lap it started raining, but that wasn't so bad, as I was already getting hot!
It was so good to see all the happy marshals cheering us on all around the course!
Bailey (Age 14) the youngest, finished well ahead of myself (Age 19 ) and my Dad (Age unknown), Last Saturday my Dad did the Cannock Chase Half marathon!, So he did really well considering that!
Although I could never say the course is easy, it is beautiful to run through the forest and around the lake. With 98 runners today!
So please join us if you are ever in the area!
We had visitors this week from as far apart at Inverness and Portsmouth, as well as Cannock Chase and Stockport along with a few visitors from our neighbours at Shrewsbury.
This week 98 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 22 were first timers and 23 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 15 different clubs took part.
The event was made possible by 21 volunteers:
