Jubilee parkrun

Wow, what can I say about today's parkrun! What a fantastic festive run celebrated by many regulars and also many parkrun 'tourists' either trying to complete today's double or the 'Awesome Foursome' - four parkruns in four days, whatever the reason a massive thank you to everyone who came along and made such a great parkrun.

Firstly, congratulations to first timer to Andover Richard Ward for coming along and getting a new course record of 16.11, a fantastic watch! I can't say enough about Tim Bennet who smashed his PB for Andover coming in at 16.21, brilliant effort and a fantastic run comning in 2nd, and of course congratulations to Chris Neil not only in coming in 3rd with a time of 18.02 but also for completing his 10th parkrun - T-shirt on it's way soon Chris!

For the ladies congrations to Lucy Rochford coming first, her first win in her 8th appearance, 2nd place to Emma Jones and 3rd place to Polly Rochford, massive congratulations to all of you and just to say, our first three ladies are all JW14, some superstars in the making there!

We had our second highest turnout today with 100 runners with representatives from 16 different running clubs, 28 first timers with a fantastic 19 PBs recorded.

With it coming up to our year anniversary the points table are becoming more important, the male's points table is a close one with Mark Curtis in the lead with 3598 points but Kevin Hughes and James Dundas snapping at his heels with only 170 points between all three! Sarah Jones is the clar leader on the womens points table with 3607 points, well done to you all!

On that note our first anniversary parkrun is 14th July, I will keep mentioning this so you can't forget, we will be celebrating in style with fun, prizes and goodies, hopefully see lots of you there.

Just a final thanks for everyone coming today, making an effort with the red, white and blue fancy dress and it was lovely to see you enjoying the cakes, getting you fuelled for Newbury which had an amazing attendance, well done to all there!

See you all again soon!
