It was lovely to see a good turnout of 298 runners, joggers and walkers at this week’s parkrun. One of the volunteers remarked that we had four seasons in one day, as it had gone from cold and windy, to drizzle, to sunny, all in the space of half an hour!
We had 17 people complete their first ever parkrun and over 40 recorded a new personal best for Ashford parkrun. Congratulations to Daniel SCHWARTZ who completed his 100th parkrun and is now eligible for a black 100
parkruns T-shirt. Congratulations also to Sarah TAYLOR and Mark ATTENBOROUGH who both reached the unofficial but still fantastic milestone of 150 parkruns.
Thanks as always to the volunteers, lots of people stepped up this week so we were able to have plenty of marshals to cheer you round the course and 3 barcode scanners so hopefully you didn’t have to queue too long to be scanned.
We have a special parkrun next week as Ashford Tri Club are taking over and filling the volunteer positions. They will have pacers and are aiming to cover the range of times from 19 minutes to 36 minutes. I’m also told they will be bringing cake!
Have a good week everyone,
