Well done to the 298 people who participated this morning in Ashford’s 325th parkrun. Clearly the threat of Storm Dennis didn’t put you off! Luckily Dennis held off and the weather wasn’t too bad at all!
Ashford Striders running club provided all 45 volunteers this week and they had 5 new members complete their first 5km after their c25k course.
We had 26 first timers at Ashford and an amazing 53 of you managed a PB, with the possible help of the 11 pacers provided by Ashford Striders.
As we hope you all enjoyed the CAKE at the finish line! Arguably the highlight of the morning!
If you are interested in joining Ashford Striders then please check them out on their Facebook page or website www.ashfordstriders.uk They are a friendly club for ALL abilities. Why not try them out and see if you like it? First 3 sessions are free.
There are a few gaps in the volunteer roster for next week, so if you can volunteer then that would be greatly appreciated. Please message us at firstname.lastname@example.org or on our Ashford parkrun Facebook page.
Just another quick reminder that the toilets in Victoria Park are still currently closed so please make sure you go before you arrive at the park. We will try and keep you updated if they reopen in the week.
We just also want to remind our parkrunners that Victoria Park is a public park, so please be courteous to all other park users, keep out of the cycle lane where possible and keep alert to others around you. If you are wearing headphones, then please make sure you can still hear others around you, this is for your own safety as well as others.
Finally we hope that Storm Dennis isn’t too bad locally but make sure you stay safe if you are running tomorrow!
Look forward to seeing you all again next week! Can we reach over 300 participants? We had over 300 each week in January but are yet to break the 300 barrier in February, so lets try and make it happen!
