Barking parkrun #376 7th September 2019

We will start the report this week by saying thank you, to our kindhearted runners who followed the few rules we have, handed back all our finish tokens and were even kind enough to spread out, so that our timers were not under any pressure. Equally thank you to your volunteers who turned out in force, to ensure a smooth safe event took place.

On a beautiful late summer early autumn morning we were pleased to welcome 15 people making there first appearance at Barking including 7 making their parkrun debut, so welcome to the following; New to Barking Oliver Nottidge, Yuanwei Xu, Michael Moore, Paul Mcgee-Renedo, Fiona Hunt, Sudipta Moore, Sharon Sayed-Moynihan &Brian Walsh; New to Barking and to parkrun, Mark Hortop, Aydin Tekoglu, Dean Chambers, Hanaa Hortop, Leila Al-Rashed, Hannah May & Amy Taylor. We hope you all enjoyed our event and will be back to see us very soon. At the other end of the spectrum although not an official parkrun milestone well done to Stephen Philcox & Natalie Traylen on each completing run 200.

FEMALE RESULTS: 1; Breege Nordin 21.55 2; Inga Hayden-Cooper 23.37 3; Nazia Islam 25.07 Highest age graded score Breege in first place an impressive 91.10%

MALE RESULTS: 1 Stephen Philcox 18.20 2; Simon Leung-Chester 18.42 3; Warren Ibrahim 19.26 Highest age graded score in first place Stephen 82.45%

This week 118 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 15 were first timers and 16 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 16 different clubs took part.

The female record is held by Lydia HALLAM who recorded a time of 17:42 on 12th August 2017 (event number 267).
The male record is held by Paul MARTELLETTI who recorded a time of 14:52 on 25th December 2017 (event number 287).
The Age Grade course record is held by Breege NORDIN who recorded 91.10% (21:55) on 7th September 2019 (event number 376).

Barking parkrun started on 28th July 2012. Since then 3,682 participants have completed 30,000 parkruns covering a total distance of 150,000 km, including 4,615 new Personal Bests. A total of 395 individuals have volunteered 4,609 times.
