Barking parkrun #378 – 21st September 2019

Herewith, this week’s run report
Weather: Sunny, not too hot, not too cold, and not too windy. Perfect parkrun weather? I think so!
Course: The fair was in town, which meant cables across the path. As it turned out, that was the least of our problems…
Participants: 124
Tourists: Seemed to have been mainly locals and Essex boys and girls today, with the exception of a lone Highgate Harrier.
Volunteers: 11 (Alison FRYATT • Mick MOOHAN • Barry CULLING • Chris HESLEGRAVE • Andy PRESTON • Alexander James FERRABY • James BYERS • Sue PARKINSON • Margaret BYERS • Greg ADAMS • Charity ANYIKA)
First-timers: 13, of which 7 first-time parkrunners and 6 first-time visitors to Barking.
PBs: 17 – Woohoo!
Finish Position tokens lost: 0. Hooray!
Milestones achieved: Two. Happy hundred parkruns to Sunil Kunjiraman and Andrew MacFarlane. Andrew also achieved the best age-grading of the day, 78.05 %.
Incidents: Two falls on the uneven surfaces. Hope you are both OK, ladies. We’ll report the issues to the Park Ranger, but can’t guarantee fast remedial action, so everyone please take extra care out there.
Dogs: Two, Cooper and Juno (though I think Juno mainly comes for the sausage sandwich afterwards).
Lost property: a rather nice water bottle, which has been reclaimed by its owner, and a toy dog (no, not Cooper).

Since Barking parkrun started on 28th July 2012:
Total runs completed: 30,262
Total distance covered: 151,310k
Unique participants: 3,712
Personal bests: 4,649
Volunteer occasions: 4,633
Unique volunteers: 398 (wouldn’t it be nice to reach 400!)

Thank you to everyone who has taken part and a particularly massive thank you to the volunteers.

Thanks as always for reading and see you next week, when Run Director Chris will be doing the honours.
