Please excuse a little Barking roadrunners slant to the opening of this report. I was reliably informed that Dennis Spencer-Perkins would attend today but was running a little late. However neither Dennis or his brother Stormy turned up, perhaps they are still on the way. We were aware of it being our 400th event, however with the storm looming, the unique 29th February run upcoming and our birthday in a few months we did not feel the need to make a fuss although chocolates were kindly provided by your event director Alison. You are a hardy lot and a little breeze didn't stop 131 of you today, although we appreciate you were all buffeted, and a little windswept by the end. Special thanks to those who arrived nice and early to check the course was suitable, and we were able to go ahead without any issues.Further thanks to the other volunteers who helped out today, we really can not proceed without you, and greatly appreciate your assistance.
Welcome to parkrun to Kevin Jake Richards, Deborah Veysi & Rahila Matin who chose to join us at Barking for their first parkrun, and begin the adventure, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and will become hooked and be back in the very near future.
