The September sunshine made an appearance this Sunday for a special junior parkrun morning in Central Park where our good friend, Andy Beazeley, celebrated his birthday weekend and his first outing as a Run Director. In fact, it was a triple birthday celebration - many happy returns to Andy, Jia and Dhyani! Thank you for the lovely treats.
Andy has been a regular volunteer since January 2017 and his whole family participates in junior parkrun and parkrun. You can read more about how they got involved in Andy's blog.
Andy is the second Run Director to join our dedicated core team this year. Hardeep Ladhar became a Run Director in May. She also started volunteering with us in January 2017 and has become a very active member of our core team helping us grow our event by supporting outreach activities to local schools.
We are thrilled that our event continues to welcome first timers every single week - with four new juniors joining us for the first time today, bringing our total finishers to a whopping 30.
Thank you to all our awesome volunteers - without you there would be no event. A big shout out to our absent regular volunteers; Timi, Sam and Christine (supported by Mike) and Rahana who ran the Flanders Fields marathon, while Emma (supported by Pete) did the Great North Run. Well done everyone!
A Mickey Mouse hat was left behind today. Please let us know if this belongs to you, or ask one of our volunteers next week.

PLEASE NOTE: Anyone receiving finish token number 10 or higher will notice that their position number has been moved up by one (so for example if you received token 16, you will be listed as position 15). This is not an error, we had to remove number 9 as only one lap was completed.
There was no official photography today as we were a little short on volunteers. If you would like to volunteer then please do email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
