There was a sea of red and white this morning as Barrow parkrunners supported England before their upcoming match against Sweden.  Well done to all our parkrunner in the heat, and to England on a brilliant win.

This morning saw milestone runs for : Linda Croud and Sally and Simon Barton, who completed their 50th parkrun.  John Wearing completed his 100th parkrun, John has also completed many volunteering roles including pre course set up on numerous occasions.  Thank you for all the cakes, sweets and biscuits which we all enjoyed with a post run drink at the cafe.

The annual purple parkrun will take place on Saturday 28th July, dig out your purple vests, t-shirts, wigs and accessories all to honour the legacy of local girl Alice Pyne, more details will follow.

This week 165 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 23 were first timers and 10 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 12 different clubs took part.

The female record is held by Lizzie BROWNE who recorded a time of 16:24 on 21st January 2012 (event number 17).
The male record is held by Phil WAITE who recorded a time of 15:12 on 3rd October 2015 (event number 206).
The Age Grade course record is held by Lizzie BROWNE who recorded 90.24% (16:24) on 21st January 2012 (event number 17).

Barrow parkrun started on 24th September 2011. Since then 4,016 participants have completed 42,798 parkruns covering a total distance of 213,990 km, including 7,290 new Personal Bests.

We welcome children at parkrun. Please note that those under the age of 11 must be within arm's reach of a parent, guardian or designated adult of the parents' choice whilst attending 5k parkrun events. It must also be ensured that children place themselves appropriately at the start so as to prevent a situation where they are being repeatedly overtaken. This is to ensure the safety of your child.
