Barrow parkrun 435

Barrow parkrun 435

With the cancellation of Fell Foot and Ford Park, Barrow welcomed Saturdays runners to our alternative course, due to the flooding around the lake.  Thank you  to the volunteers who made todays run possible by helping to clear a few of the slight puddles we had to run through. The alternative course is slightly more challenging with plenty of undulations, we hope you all enjoyed it.

Congratulations to Laura McGuigan who completed her 200th parkrun and also achieved a personal best, well done and thank you  for the cakes after the run.

This week 187 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 17 were first timers and 5 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 18 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 20 volunteers:

Graham CARR • Donna BATES • Simon BARTON • David SPENCER • Michael COOK • Louise COOK • Patricia NEWBY • Clare GREENWOOD • Diane BRADSHAW • Sarah CUBISS • Ted CUBISS • William MCALLISTER • John SHERWEN • Paul WILLETTS • John WEARING • Fred BAGLEY • Christopher PUNTON • Ann HORTON • Michelle JOHNSON • Brian LEECE

Congratulations to the following people who achieved their personal bests:

We welcome children at parkrun. Please note that those under the age of 11 must be within arm's reach of a parent, guardian or designated adult of the parents' choice whilst attending 5k parkrun events. It must also be ensured that children place themselves appropriately at the start so as to prevent a situation where they are being repeatedly overtaken. This is to ensure the safety of your child.

Please don't forget to join us after the run at the cafe for a coffee and chat, sometimes we even have cake.

See you all soon

Mike & Louise Cook
